A FRIENDLY REMINDER OF TRACK ETIQUETTE
We are very fortunate to have some incredible athletes & coaches on the Sunshine Coast. And we all have the same goals.
Ensure our athletes reach their full potential and do this by training.
Unfortunately, with so many coaches & athletes using the uni facilities at the same time, problems and safety concerns arise.
UniSC Athletics have prepared a TRACK & FIELD ETIQUETTE GUIDE.
It is recommended that ALL groups using the university’s track & field facilities read and follow the guide recommendations.
PLEASE NOTE:
UniSC Athletics Club is a member of the Australian Athletics Association. Committee have chosen to abide by our AA governing body’s recommendation and as such all our UniSC Athletics recommended club coaches have a minimum qualification of Level 2 Track and Field (as per Athletics Australia Standard). This ensures that the coach & athletes are covered for insurance under the Australian Athletics policy.
Track access and charges explained –
UniSC Athletics Club have an agreement with the university and is as follows:
- Non-UniSC Athletics members coached by our UniSC Athletics club coaches must pay a track fee at the pool kiosk BEFORE the coaching session begins.
- However, UniSC Athletics members coached by our UniSC Athletics club coaches, or a non-club coach do NOT have to pay the track fee at the pool kiosk and further they have free access to the track at any time, unless it is not otherwise booked or unavailable.
We do not have specific club training/coaches; however, we have a list of aligned coaches that our UniSC Athletics athletes train with and we would recommend.
These coaches have their own squads, fees and training venues including the UniSC track.
Please get in contact with them individually about their availability and costs.
